"Goat Sucker" at Asian performing artists lab
In 2024, Valentino began developing their debut solo piece, “Goat Sucker” as part of the Asian Performing Artists Lab (APAL) residency, which culminated in two performances at Berliner Ringtheater. The piece explores drag and its undoing of binaries, and transformation of the body through movement and voice. The title references the chupacabra, a shapeshifting mythological figure from Puerto Rico, as an entry point into these themes. Valentino continues to develop the piece, with future performances forthcoming.
